Junior Course Notes :

1. Age : 16 year olds can choose between the Junior course with increased supervision and earlier curfew or the Summer Course

2. Levels : A level test must be submitted at time of booking. Students with a level above mid intermediate will be offered the choice to study in the classes of the 16s + programme but with all other items of the Junior programme.

3. Activities : this is the same activities programme as the Summer Course (16s +)

Attendance on the Activity programme will be obligatory. Consistent failure to attend could result in a student being sent home.

4. Host Families/meals : students will be placed in specially selected host families who will be expected to sit down with the students for at least 1 main meal per day, spend time with the students and help to monitor the curfew.

Lunches will mainly be packed lunches and we will ensure a healthy and balanced meal of an equal standard for all the students.

5. Supervision/curfew : this is not a 24-hour supervised programme. Students must be sufficiently mature to be able to make their own ways from home to school and vice versa.

There will be a strictly enforced curfew :

  • Weekdays : midnight
  • Friday/Saturday : 01.00

This takes into account the Mediterranean timetable applicable in Malaga. Earlier times would not be realistic and would be impossible to enforce.

Repeated abuse of the curfew will be a motive for sending a student home.

To enable us to monitor the curfew and to help ensure the safety of these youngsters we will require them to have a functioning mobile phone with them at all times. Parents should ensure that their children are equipped with a mobile phone. In the case that a student does not have a phone we will have a limited supply available for rental and with a returnable deposit.

6. Airport Transfers : we guarantee that the students will be delivered to an adult at the homestay address (in the case where this provides impossible they will be delivered to the Club Hispanico of Malaca Instituto) on arrival and on the return transfer they will be delivered to the queue at the correct check-in desk. We will have additional staff at the airport during the following hours to deal with any cases of flight cancellation/delays :

  • Arrival transfers: Sundays: 10.00 – 22.00
  • Departure transfers: Saturdays: 10.00 – 21.00

(transfers outside these times on request)
